I imported a piece of Pygmy Song (the track `'Midnight Yelli Part 3' from the CD 'Baka Forest People' - it´s a great CD, buy it!) into ableton live to get a grip on the different melodies. I´m not sure if I got it right and of course the original sounds way better but for analytical purposes it´s quite helpful.

Rehearsing with ableton live´s looper-tool
I want to use the looper tool of ableton live on stage, so I need some practice and that is why you see me rehearsing 'Eka' (Ethno Kitsch Atmo) of the 'Fake african memories here. I am not satisfied with my ways of routing different channels to the looper, I hope I can find out a better way

Blotch two-piece-band photos
Daniel Shechtman and his quasiperiodic crystals - should I omit a common cycle of different patterns in the next compositions? My fascination for the musical structures in central anfrican music as described by Simha Arom led me to the frequent use of polyrhythmic patterns in cyclic structures.
Blotch as a two-piece-band needed pictures, so we did a session, these are some favorites, without any editing.

Disco Balls
My classic favourite frivolity during Blotch gigs. Usually I mess this up, fail to close the bra etc. but not this time...
At the moment I am thinking of enhancing the disco balls with midi controllers. Probably I will use distance and flexion sensors applied to gloves in combination with the disco balls. I still have to do more research on the musical possibilities of such a setup.

Midi-controller during puberty
A version of Rigidur live in Robodonien 2011. I am triggering bass samples with the joystick, that is connected to Ableton live via junXion lite. The bass line is composed by former bass player Bastian Heckl and was recorded by Volker Schubert for the 'Love & Rockets'-LP but was not included on the album. This version uses rhythmic variations and added delay. I had to bend down to my laptop because the footcontroller was out of service spontaniously.

Blotch in Robodonien
A dream came true at the fourth Robodonien Festival when we rocked the stage together with Kolja Kugler´s 'bass playing robot'.
I hope the robot will learn some Blotch or Para Hybrid basslines to join the band next time...
It was a pleasure to meet the wonderfull Pierre Gordeeff, his sound-machines are absolutely fascinating.

New Para Hybrid video: Void
This is a video to accompany my composition 'Void' one of my 'Fake african memories'. Thanks to the Nikon D-7000 the quality is much better than before. It was recorded at a rehearsal of the Kargyraa Krew in June, in the editing I finally used only the images of me, because I´m the only singer on that track (two short loops).
Neither video nor the sound are perfect, but are fine to give an idea of Para Hybrid:

Later there shall be a version of the Mascara-video in this quality, but at the moment I´m concentrating on working with my band Blotch.

Blotch live in Zytanien
Short snippets of Blotch live in Zytanien 2011.
'Flag on the moon' for the first time performed in a live set with 2 guitars & electronics and combined with throatsinging.
We went on playing with Dora & Dennis of krautrockers WELTRAUM on Drums & Bass which turned out to be cool and we are looking forward to doing that again at Robodonien - http://robodonien.de

Video snaps of Para Hybrid & Kargyraa Krew Gig
Two videos of the Gig in Odonien 12/2010, at the GKA-event.
Bijuti has a nice look (in spite of the bad youtube-quality), but the sound is not really good.
Mascara sounds a bit better and is fun to watch, but not as poetic as it is in my head.
It took the video recordings quiet long to reach me. When they finally arrived, I was not so thrilled with what I saw. For the audience, it must have been an interesting gig and we had fun on stage, but all in all this is not what I am after.
In the meantime, I have been looking in different directions how to improve that. I participated in a workshop on african vocal polyphony with Anita Daulne, did an electronic set with my band Blotch at the festival Zytanien and moved into my own music-studio...
